Privacy Education and Training

Privacy best practices require that employees and other members of your organization are educated on your privacy program and trained on policies and procedures that support your privacy policy.

There are two types of education that are relevant to best practices: educational awareness and training. Everyone in your organization should go through awareness education. Make it mandatory! Awareness education focuses on the “what” of your privacy best practices program.

Privacy training is different; it focuses on the “How to." Those employees who are “handlers” of sensitive information must go through privacy training, policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Privacy education and training is not a one-time affair.  Training should be performed on frequent intervals to insure that your privacy and information security objectives are being met by all employees.
